Avengers Campus - Everything we know about the new land
The New Avengers Campus opens June 4th, 2021 at Disney California Adventure! It’s no doubt we were excited to watch the opening ceremony and we are so amped to see this amazing new land for ourselves opening weekend. There’s a lot to know so we did all the heavy lifting for you! Take a look at everything we know about Disney California Adventure Park’s newest land, Avengers Campus.
Avengers Campus is complete with a brand new, first of its kind attraction, new merchandise locations, outdoor food stands and a new themed restaurant and micro-brewery for your dining pleasure. You’ll also find amazing, interactive character interactions and high energy stunt shows featuring your favorite Marvel superheroes. You will also see the only full-size Quinjet atop the Avengers HQ. Avengers Campus now occupies what used to be A Bug’s Land. It’s not the biggest footprint, but they definitely packed it in with plenty of room to expand.
The new Avengers Campus is located in the space A Bug’s Land used to occupy. Each end of the land features an attraction with Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout located on one side and the new WEB SLINGERS on the other. Smack dab in the middle of the campus you’ll find a shop, a restaurant/bar, outdoor vending carts for food (hello Shawarma!) and merchandise, and plenty of immersive character interactions.

WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure
Opening June 4, 2021, along with the rest of Avengers Campus, is WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. This incredible new attraction has a Toy Story Midway Mania vibe. But the most remarkable thing about it is that YOU are the weapon. WEB SLINGERS uses new technology that tracks your body movements to allow you to shoot webs from your own wrists to stop the mischievous “Spider-Bots.”
When Peter Parker’s helpful but otherwise buggy Spider-Bots get stuck in replication mode and escape from a WEB Workshop, Spider-Man must stop the rampaging robots before they wreak total techno-havoc across Avengers Campus. Problem is, they’re rapidly leveling up and becoming tough to beat!
Your task? Hop aboard a WEB Slinger vehicle and help weave a frenzied web to trap these friendly neighborhood sidekicks in true Spidey style. It’s up to you to unleash your inner hero and save the Campus from complete chaos!
Perfect for up-and-coming recruits—with no height restrictions.
With this unique new attraction comes a unique “pay to play option.” If you want to enhance the experience, then you’ll want to get your own WEB Power Band. With models inspired by Spider-Man, Ghost-Spider, Iron Man, and Rescue, these WEB Power Bands will either give you electro-dynamic webs to shoot or repulsor cannons for blasting enemies.
We were very excited to learn that Spider-Man actor Tom Holland is the face of the web-slinger in the ride even appearing on screen as Peter Parker in the pre-show.

Join the Virtual Queue to Experience It
To experience WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, guests are required to join the virtual queue, only accessible via the Disneyland mobile app. Distribution times for virtual queue enrollment are at 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM each day, subject to availability. In order to give as many Guests as possible the opportunity to sling webs alongside Spider-Man, each Guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day.
Joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to experience WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. Guests may only enter a virtual queue once per day for each attraction, and may not hold a boarding group for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure at the same time.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout
GotG:MB obviously isn’t new, but it finally feels at home over there in its little corner of the Universe. And now, it is joined by a Terran Treats stand and Shwarma cart for you to enjoy while over there. You’ll also find that they made some improvements to the area with new pavement, making it appear that the tower has been transported to Avengers Campus.
At the last D23 Expo, a new Phase Two attraction was promised for Avengers Campus by Bob Chapek, which would feature an E-Ticket ride that puts guests aboard their own Quinjet in a battle over Wakanda. While this project was placed on hold because of...you know...we hope to hear more in the future.

Taskmaster, the new villain from the forthcoming Black Widow film set to release this summer in theaters and on Disney+.
What’s great about this new land is the immersive nature of the characters. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill Disney character meet and greet. The larger-than-life cast of characters is the main attraction of the land. You’ll experience magic, epic battles, wall scaling, and yes, Spider-Man leaping from one rooftop to another.
The Ancient Sanctum
Dr. Strange has found a home in Avengers Campus with his mysterious garden, the “Ancient Sanctum.” Here he’ll teach recruits how to cast spells in a brilliant demonstration. The area will be a completely unique experience at night with what Disney describes as “pulsating mystic energy.”
Dora Milaje Training Experience
The Dora Milaje will be highlighted with an all-new training experience. Deena Selenow, Show Director for Avengers Campus, was heard saying that “it was really important to us that it was authentic and there is a feeling of human to human connection.” During the interactive show, guests will have an opportunity to answer questions asked by the Dora Milaje. Selenow added, “Okoye has these interactions with our guests that will only happen once and will never happen again because it’s earnest and in the moment.” With this training comes the responsibility to take up arms with these warriors when they need us. “Being a hero like them is achievable,” she said. “We’re orienting a new generation of warrior allies, so if the time comes that the Dora need our support that we’re there and can answer that call to action.”
Spider-Man
We finally get to see Spidey in action...in real life! If you don’t know what we are talking about, check out the video of this one of a kind stunt robot created by Walt Disney Imagineering.
Food
You know we love food...so we are thrilled to try some new items at one (or all) of the four dining locations.
PYM Test Kitchen
Ant Man’s PYM Test Kitchen and PYM Tasting Lab micro-brewery have some unique items that play with portion size, color, and texture. Some of the menu items include:
Not So Little Chicken Sandwich: Fried Chicken Breast, Teriyaki and Red Chili Sauces, and Pickled Cabbage Slaw on Brioche, served with crispy Potato Bites
Quantum Pretzel: 453.8 grams, Bavarian-style, with Sharp Cheddar Cheese-Beer Sauce
ImpossibleTM Spoonful: Rigatoni and Ditalini Pastas, Plant-based Meat-balls, Tomato Sauce, Dairy-free Parmesan and Micro Basil

Pym Tasting Lab
Don’t shrink from the opportunity to check out what’s brewing at this innovative beverage laboratory, including specialty craft beers and beer cocktails. The micro-brewery is located outdoors next to Pym Test Kitchen. Here are some beverages to look forward to.

Savor a heroic hand-held savory wrap featuring delicious fillings like fragrant chicken shawarma with garlic spread or Impossible™ plant-based falafel.

Terran Treats Outdoor Vending Cart
Located across from the Guardians of the Galaxy tower is this outdoor vending cart, Churro spirals and cosmic orbs are just a few curious concoctions that Terrans—like you—are invited to try at this funky food cart. See all the have to offer on their small but mighty menu.
Seating
You’ll find plenty of seating in the old exterior queue of the Hyperion Theater that should be available to guests in the busy early days of the land.
Marvel Merchandise
We all love our Disney merch! There’s one main shop called WEB Suppliers, and a merchandise cart, the Campus Supply Pod. Stage 17 also has a ton of merchandise. You’ll find everything in the land and then some, without the wait.
WEB Suppliers
Prepare for action-packed adventures around Avengers Campus! At this one-stop hero shop, new recruits will find everything necessary to accept important missions at a moment’s notice—like cutting-edge inventions and other up-to-the-minute technologies developed by the Worldwide Engineering Brigade’s brightest minds.
WEB members are particularly proud to offer access to some of their key prototypes, like the indispensable Spider-Bot. These friendly robotic sidekicks feature combat and defensive modes that keep you in command when mayhem strikes—plus, Avengers-inspired tactical upgrades are available to transform your Spider-Bot’s overall appearance and enhance battle capabilities for a blast of custom fun.
Other mighty must-haves—including at-home kits to create your own spider webs, spider light goggles and a special, WEB-enhanced backpack to carry and display your Spider-Bot—let you unlock the power to continue your own heroic story anytime, anywhere!
With the immersive nature of Avengers Campus comes a new merchandise integration with the new WEB SLINGERS attraction. You can purchase WEB Shooters both inside the land and in Stage 17. They function in two modes: attraction mode (while riding on WEB SLINGERS) and home mode. The attraction mode will actually change how you play the game. For instance, there are WEB Shooters that use electrified webs or you can use Iron-Man’s energy blasts while on the attraction.
While in home mode, the WEB Shooters have limited functions like lights and sounds that play on activation. There are several models of WEB Shooters, Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider that fire electric webs, along with Iron-Man and Rescue repulsor blasters.
Campus Supply Pod
Suit up with Avengers Campus performance fleece hoodies, T-shirts and headwear. Plus, check out an amazing array of drinkware and other essential Super Hero supplies.
Avengers Campus Tips
Day one has been quite a fiasco from what we have heard. Early feedback is indicating long lines to enter the land and by 11am on opening day, all food times were taken and food items were sold out at Pym’s Test Kitchen, Pym’s Tasting Lab and both Shawarma Palace locations. We are hoping that the crew figures out how to make this flow better in the coming days.
Don’t forget the Virtual Queue for WEB SLINGERS as there will be no standby line for this attraction. You can try for a boarding time at 7am and Noon. Use your Disneyland App to get your virtual spot in line for WEB SLINGERS. Spots will fill up fast.
