The Essential 2024 Oogie Boogie Guide

It’s time for the 2024 Oogie Boogie Bash!

Get ready for the spooky season at Disney California Adventure Park with Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party! On select nights in August, September, and October, guests can immerse themselves in a world of Halloween magic, complete with costumes, exclusive character meet-and-greets, treat trails, and more. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your Oogie Boogie Bash experience.

Tips for Making the Most of Oogie Boogie Bash 2024:

Early Entry:

Maximize your time by taking advantage of early entry, which begins at 3:00 p.m. for party guests. Use this time to explore the park, enjoy attractions, and grab some Halloween-themed treats before the official party starts at 6:00 p.m.

Best Entry Points:

In previous years, entering DCA through the Grand Californian Hotel was the quickest way in, but be prepared for longer lines this year. If you have a park ticket or Magic Key reservation, consider using the in-park check-in near the entrance to Avengers Campus.

Prioritize Meet & Greets:

With so many unique character experiences, it’s wise to prioritize one must-do photo op. Characters like the Kingdom Hearts trio, Bruno, and the Sanderson Sisters are popular, so plan accordingly. Additional characters like the Evil Queen and Snow White may be found near Carthay Circle with shorter lines.

Catch the Frightfully Fun Parade:

The parade is offered twice nightly. The second parade usually has fewer crowds, but if you want to catch the first one at 7:45 p.m., aim to grab a spot at least 20 minutes before the Headless Horseman rides by.

Costume Guidelines:

Before planning your spooky ensemble, be sure to review Disney’s updated costume guidelines to ensure a safe and fun experience for everyone:

General Rules:

  • Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters but cannot pose for photos or sign autographs for other guests.

  • Costumes must be family-friendly and free of any obstructive, offensive, or violent elements.

  • Costume accessories, including weapons, must not resemble or be mistaken for real weapons.

  • Layered costumes and full-body props are discouraged and may be subject to extra security screening.

  • Costumes should not reach or drag on the ground (no full-length princess dresses).

Guests Ages 13 and Under:

  • Costumes and masks are allowed, provided the mask doesn’t cover the entire face and the eyes are visible.

Guests Ages 14 and Older:

  • Capes are permitted as long as they don’t extend below the waist.

  • Themed shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and accessories like transparent wings, plastic lightsabers, and tutus are acceptable.

  • No masks are allowed unless worn for medical purposes.

Please note that guests may be asked to modify their costumes.

Villains Grove at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail:

Experience the eerie magic of Villains Grove, where iconic Disney villains have transformed the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail into an enchanted forest filled with mystical lights and sounds. Each section of the trail is themed after a different villain, offering a unique and immersive experience:
